ONCE THE FILTER IS INSTALLED THE CAP IS REMOVABLE SO YOU CAN JUST REPLACE THE FILTER AS NEEDED. SOME GUYS WASH THE FILTER WITH REGULAR DISH SOAP, "THAT'S WHAT I DO." I USE THE BLUE DAWN DISH SOAP.
